Newsstands

 

The distribution of print media in the public space is an essential part of 1^st Amendment rights. Because there is limited space on the sidewalk, especially in the downtown core, SDOT has a newsstands program which provides consistency to the location of newsstands.

In coordination with local newspaper publishers and distributors, SDOT also wants to know about newsstand maintenance conditions that need to be addressed in the public right of way. Our reporting portal provides the public with an easy way to report newsstand maintenance issues, and contractors and newsstand owners with a streamlined coordination method to plan construction-related relocation requests.
